Drop the Weights and RUN

There are times when we feel heavy and we don't realize why. Have you ever wondered why you felt hindered? Why you are so tired? Most of the time it is because we are carrying "weights". A weight can be anything that slows you down and distracts you from God. One thing I should probably add is that a weight is not necessarily a sin. With that being said let's include the scripture to this and then I will describe in more detail the "weights".

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." -Hebrews 12:1(NIV)

We are in this race to win. The path has been set for us. First thing we have to do is stay on the track. When you are feeling heavy you have a tendency to weeble and wobble and end up in somebody else's lane causing a collision. What weight could this be? How about the burdens of others. The Bible tells us to "Cast all our anxieties on Him..." (1 Peter 5:10) not other people. It is okay to be an ear but inform people that you are like UPS.. they drop the package off so you can send it to the intended receiver. Then remind yourself not to keep the package for yourself. Drop it at the altar and RUN.

Another weight could be to be a people pleaser. (These are just a few examples btw, I have no clue what your weight is) We often want to fit in so bad that we compromise who we are so that others will like us and/or love us better. You don't have to do that because God has plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11). Learn to love you better, drop the drainers and RUN.

In all honesty you have your own race to run and you need to travel lightly. This is a journey. Everybody and everything can't go as bad as you want them too.

Drop the Weights.... AND RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!  (Literally)
